Guidelines

I have been with Entrecard, I believe, since 2008. And I was very active then, I was blog hopping and dropping ECards like crazy. Joining blog contests giving away ECard credits as prizes, and eventually I was even sponsoring some contests giving my own earned ECards as prizes so I my blogs can get exposure.

But like most things, which can only excite you in the beginning, I began to lie low in my entrecard transactions. I am not as active as I was before. I had a falling out, so to speak. Yet, I still maintain my account, believing that the system can still do me some good… until the recent Entrecard fail.

I started Money Online March of 2010. It’s actually an offshoot of my old Money Online hosted in Blogger. But I did not sign it in Entrecard immediately, until I meet the certain number of posts… and when I did, I never had the time to sign it up.

But just this month, I was finally able to have this blog submitted to Entrecard, which as per new policy, would still have to go under screening before it can finally be allowed to drop cards and advertise in other Entrecard affiliated blogs.

It did not take long really before I receive a reply for my application… but lo and behold! This is what I got…

And they even gave me a link to Wikipedia like I do not know what a spam blog is, and this is DEFINITELY NOT ONE!

Not about to take this sitting down, I gave them a piece of my mind and sent this reply…

How dare you call my blog a spam blog! I am a legitimate blogger and all my blogs are real and all post are written by me – A REAL PERSON!

Unlike the one who tagged my blog a spam, which is most probably just bots WHO DOESN’T THINK!

Yup! I said that, with self-restraint, mind you.

I take my blogging seriously, even if I really do not earn serious money online, it is blogging my soul that keeps me breathing. So, don’t even dare say that to me!

After a few days, I received this reply…

Your account ‘Money OnLine’ on entrecard.com has been restored. The administrator gave the following reason:

active now.

And just like that, this blog is now approved in Entrecard… can drop cards, accept droppers, can advertise and accept advertisement… just like that…

Seriously, I am thinking of running a contest, or sponsoring some contest, just I can give away all my ECard credits, and finally delete my account there — in all my eight (8) blogs currently signed up there.

This isn’t the first time they did this to me.

IT SUCK BEING CATEGORIZED BY BOTS!

As a blogger, most probably we all use Adsense on our blogs. After all, who would not want a passive income just by blogging.

Unfortunately, unlike some experts who make a killing from their Adsense earnings, not all of us are lucky enough to receive a regular payout from Adsense. As for me, it took me more than two years before I got my first payout. But I’m not complaining, it is just a passive income after all. Some of us are just luckier.

Here, I would like to share the latest email I receive from Adsense on how to earn more from our search box.

Many received the same email, I’m sure but not all have search box on their blogs. Maybe this would convince them to put the Adsense Search Box on their site and increase (hopefully) their Adsense earnings.

Since one of my aim was to earn money online through blogging, I have signed up in different affiliate sites that allows bloggers to meet some companies online who are looking to hire bloggers for review of their products or services.

One of those that I have signed up with is Social Spark, I have been with them since 2008. It was in fact one of those sites that I have signed in during my initial quest to earn through blogging by writing paid posts.

But while it was one of the earliest, two years with them and I still haven’t earned a cent. While I am getting a moderate income from other sites because I do get writing opportunities from them, I have yet to get my first opps from Social Spark.

Often, I get email notifications that I am qualified to take an opportunity and asked me to sign in for it, which I did. But each time I do, I am met with the “Reserve a slot” instead of take this opportunity. Initially, I do click on the “Reserve” button hoping that I will be notified once a slot would become available. Which never really happened, so now when I get those emails, I just ignored them.

But the latest email I received from them, couldn’t just be ignored. It was not an opportunity to earn money, by the way. It was an accusation that my blog does not have original content!

Here’s a screen capture of the said email:

Did you see that? “A majority of this blog content is not original”

What?! You must be kidding me.

The email is referring to my Sugar Coated World, a blog where I post original poetry and personal essays, and social spark has to guts to say they are not original?!

Not surprising really, because that’s what you got when talk with bots and other machine-automated replies — THEY DON’T THINK! They just rely on certain algorithms that are not really reliable, as proven by what they are saying on my blog.

Right now, I am in the process of deleting my account with them and removing all the codes they asked to me embed in my blogs when I signed it.

Honestly, I don’t mind not getting any writing opportunity, I can live with that. But to say my poems are not original is an outright insult!

Deleting my anti-social spark account now.

I am sure that you have seen and read those “How to earn Money OnLine” post where you are often bombarded with “get-rich quick” schemes like money will flowing out of your nose. Well, you know that say when something is too good to be true – most probably, it is.

Anyway, this is exactly the opposite. It is HOW NOT TO EARN MONEY ONLINE which is really very easy to do – DO NOTHING.

You do not really earn by doing nothing, you will earn only if you DO SOMETHING, even if others will say otherwise.

What merited this post really, and I am a perfect example, is an email I received from CPALead where I was informed that they are closing my account, for the reason being “due to inactivity.”

Just in case, for some reason, you haven’t heard of what is an Entrecard is, it is like a virtual business card that you can drop on other blogs which are signed up with Entrecard as well.

You earn credits, which is usually referred to as EC Credits, everytime you drop on blogs. You will see the Entrecard widgets usually on the sidebar of each blogs. These credits then could be used to advertise on other blogs. Rates vary depending on the blogs popularity.

There are other ways to earn EC Credits, but of course, that could be another topic.

You know, those sometimes distracting double lines that you see on blogs. The one with those sometimes irritating rotating ring showing when you hover your mouse on them, whether accidentally or intentionally.
